Moses had a face-to-face relationship with God; may we choose those things that help us to have the same.

Dear Lord, we pray for a deeper relationship with you, daily enlarge our hearts to be able to know you and your will for us. Let there be nothing standing between you and me. Amen.

Prayers for the week
Thank you to Jo A for this week’s prayers.

Singing in St Thomas’ church opens windows on wonderful words - a thought-provoking quiz of Bible stories or prayers given wings.

Praise:
We praise thee o God
We acknowledge thee to be the Lord
All the earth doth worship thee the Father everlasting

I was glad when they said unto me, we will go into the house of the Lord,
our feet shall stand in thy gates.

We praise you that life in your presence is so marvellous and rewarding.

Penitence:
Dear Lord and Father of mankind forgive our foolish ways
Reclothe us in our rightful mind

We are sorry for the times when we have ungrateful and self-centred and disappointed you.
We pray to leave our old nature of life and be renewed in your image.

Petition:
We pray that you will make us channels of your peace
Where there is hatred let us sow your love
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
Where there’s despair in life let us bring hope

Jesus brought hope to the hopeless and health to the sick

Please guide our thoughts, words and actions Lord

Breathe through the heats of our desire your coolness and your balm
Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake ,wind and fire
Oh still small voice of calm

Lord we ask for patience to wait and listen for you

Thanks:
Daisies are our silver, buttercups our gold, this is all the treasure we can have or hold.

We pray for our world where the environment is eroding we thank you for the wonderful gifts of nature and pray that farmers and the population can grow sufficient food for all.

Guide me
Hold me
Feed me
Lead me all my journey through
I am weak but thou art mighty
Be thou still my strength and shield
Bid my fears subside
Songs of praises I will ever give to thee

We thank you that there are examples in the Bible to encourage us in following you and trusting.

God be in my head and in my understanding ;
God be in my eyes and in my looking ;
God be in my mouth and in my speaking ;
God be in my heart and in my thinking ;
God be at my end and at my departing.
