St Thomas' Choir

The church choir consists of a pool of around 18 adults and 10 juniors who sing for the services. The choir sings at most Sunday morning services and at monthly choral evensong and there is a regular practice on Friday evenings. We are also sometimes joined by choristers from the other churches in the benefice for benefice services and other special occasions. We also draw on a substantial pool of extra singers who enjoy joining the choir for special events.

As part of choir membership, we have offered instruction following the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) ‘Voice for Life’ Programme. This is a graded series of awards which develops and encourages church musicianship, knowledge and understanding which we have found to be a very effective form of engagement. Most of our young choristers and some adults have gained RSCM awards and have found this to be a fulfilling and developmental experience.  If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact Elizabeth Parkinson through the benefice office.
