The prayer for the week

Almighty God,
you have broken the tyranny of sin
and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts
whereby we call you Father:
give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service,
that we and all creation may be brought
to the glorious liberty of the children of God;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Prayer activities at Goring School

cebd1b03-13e8-13f6-93f5-b2d9e23b4e6a7e-8214-0fac-3552-e5ca62In previous years before the pandemic we have run Prayer Spaces at Goring School with the help of the charity BeSpace. The activities introduce the children to various different creative ways of praying encouraging them to both talk and listen to God. Building work at the school has meant that a room was not available to run a Prayer Space again this year, so instead we recently did a couple of prayer activities with each class in their classroom. The younger children coloured zebras in multi-coloured stripes to remind us that we are all unique and loved by God, and made paper chains with their thank you prayers. The older children used cardboard stones to offer their worries to God and made thank you butterflies. We very much hope to run a Prayer Space again in the new academic year – the children that remembered the previous ones were full of enthusiasm for them!
