Annual Meetings 2024

Faith carving
This is the time of year when we start thinking about the Annual Parochial Church Meetings (APCM) and the Annual Meetings of Parishioners (AMP) where we review the activities of the previous year and choose who will help to run and manage the churches for the coming year.

The AMP is a short meeting open to all parishioners at which the churchwardens are elected. The church wardens are the unsung heroines and heroes of parish life who bear much of the burden of managing the running and maintenance of the churches. They deserve our thanks and support!

The APCM is a slightly longer meeting open to those on the electoral roll of the church. The business of the APCM is to elect lay parish representatives to the Deanery Synod and to the Parochial Church Councils (PCCs). The PCCs are the bodies responsible for the running of the churches and the members are Trustees of the church. If you are interested in being a Deanery Synod rep or a member of the PCC do talk to a church warden, or a member of the PCC or clergy. At the APCM we also hear the reports of the activities of the church during the previous year and of the financial statements for the year.

The timetable for our church meetings (APM followed by APCM) this year is as follows:

St Andrew’s, South Stoke                Sunday 17th March 2024 at 12:00
St Mary’s, Streatley                           Sunday 21st April 2024 at 11:45
St Thomas’, Goring                            Sunday 28th April 2024 at 11:00

Look out also for notices of the revision to the Electoral Roll for each church which occurs during the window 28 to 15 days before the APCM for the relevant parish. This is the opportunity to make changes to the Electoral Roll.
