Ascension Day Service

 Thursday 9th May 2024 - 7:30pm at St Thomas' Church

Join us for our Ascension Day service – one of the main festivals in the Christian Church.  40 days on from Easter Jesus has accomplished all he came to do on Earth and so has ascended back to his glorious fullness in heaven. We use human language and all our art to express praise and to understand. No longer limited to a human form he reigns as our true king and at the Father’s right hand and is praying for us.

The choir will be leading the music in the hymns, and singing Finzi’s magnificent anthem, God is gone up.   If you would like to sing with the choir for this service, do get in contact with Elizabeth Parkinson via the benefice office. There will be a practice on Friday 3rd May from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and before the service on Thursday 9th May at 6.45pm. 

The service will be followed by refreshments in the Canterbury Room.
